Project 1: Salinity and Sodium Testing at Government & Contractor Furnished Borrow Areas for Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System (HSDRRS) for the Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District
Location: 48 Various Sites in Louisiana and Mississippi
Project ManagementJESCO crews and JESCO drilling/probing equipment sampled 48 separate sites across two states in remote and very poor conditions (heavily forested, marsh, swamp, large, and limited access). Due to poor site accessibility, JESCO crews used heavy equipment to clear work roads, develop water crossings, and move equipment into project areas.
JESCO crews drilled/probed a total of 8,140 linear feet over approximately 5 months, collecting over 4,000 samples. JESCO managers developed site specific sampling and analysis plans and investigation reports. Hurricane protection scheduling required rapid responses on multiple occasions, and JESCO was able to respond within a day of site issuance.
